Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate to support phase appropriate method development, method qualification, and product characterization of antibody and antibody drug conjugates, with a moderate level of independence. A successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of chromatographic and electrophoretic separations with experience in troubleshooting instruments and method issues. Responsibilities will include the design, execution, and sample analysis for moderately complex experiments in support of early and late-phase product characterization. The applicant should be able to conduct many disparate tasks and manage time effectively with a high degree of organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams including members from Quality Control, Formulation and Process Development, and external collaborators. Attention to detail while meeting timelines to achieve personal and program goals is highly desired. The ability to successfully train new team members on existing methods and instrumentation is a plus.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Independence: Functions with a moderate degree of independence in daily work. Can design and interpret experiments with guidance. General understanding of project scope.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Provides experimental expertise and support to others on joint projects. Provides data and partial (co-) authorship on group reports. May help train other employees and may provide limited direction to others.
- Communication: Written- drafts reports and technical documents with moderate guidance.
- Verbal- clear and effective presentations that may incorporate the experimental data of others with moderate guidance.
- Breadth of Knowledge: Demonstrates working knowledge in specific areas. Able to carry out prescribed work, analysis, and reduction to conclusions with moderate supervision. Seeks advice from others outside areas of specific responsibility and uses scientific literature to help guide potential solutions. Familiarity with drug development processes is a plus.
- Sophistication: Synthesizes information to design and perform moderately complex experiments to address scientific problems. Can explain the details of the work and understands how it fits into the bigger picture.
Qualifications:
- BS with 2+ years or MS with 0-2 years experience in analytical method development or biomolecular analysis/characterization in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry setting
- Demonstrated experience and success working in cross-functional project teams, including matrixed reporting environments
- Technical experience with chromatographic or electrophoretic separations
- Ability to apply experimental data to advance project goals
- Some knowledge of antibody and/or antibody drug-co
- Some experience writing technical reports and/or regulatory filings is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s or MS Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biophysics, or a related field

The hiring pay range for this position is $72,000 - $94,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
