Summer Intern – Quantitative Pharmacology and Disposition

Description

Summary:

Seagen is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated summer intern to join the Bioanalytical Department in Quantitative Pharmacology and Disposition, Translational Sciences, to help explore a highly innovative extracellular vesicle project. Activities will include exosome purification and isolation; development, and execution of assays to characterize changes in exosome subpopulation linked to drug treatment and disease state. The successful candidate will have a strong eager to learn new techniques, thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment, ability to multitask and have a can-do attitude towards challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Manipulate cancer cell line and maintain cell culture.
  • Extract extracellular vesicles from cell culture media and plasma/serum.
  • Execute molecular and cell-based methodologies such as multicolor flow cytometry, RNA extraction and isolation, RT-qPCR, and ligand-binding assays such as ELISA and MSD.
  • Develop fit-for purpose assays for exosome characterization.
  • Maintain rigorous records of experimental progress using electronic laboratory notebooks.

Qualifications:

  • PhD graduate student currently enrolled in programs such as in Cellular or Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field.
  • Familiar with cell culture and aseptic technique.
  • Experience with cellular and molecular techniques such as RT-qPCR and ELISA.

Note: This is an onsite, paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. While housing is not provided by Seagen, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.
