Description

Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and collaborative summer intern to join our discovery chemistry team in a lab-based role to support novel Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) technology development. This intern will gain hands-on experience in the industrial setting involved in the design, synthesis and evaluation of novel ADC payloads and drug linkers. Activities may also include coordinating or performing biological assays to understand drug linker and ADC properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform multi-step syntheses for novel ADC payloads, drug linkers, and key intermediates
  • Operate a variety of analytical instruments including HPLC, LC/MS, NMR to enable structural determination and purity assessment
  • Analyze and accurately record data using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks
  • Maintain a high level of scientific integrity and laboratory safety
  • Present results in the form of written reports and oral presentations

Qualifications:

  • ​​Bachelor’s degree in process or recently completed in biochemistry, chemistry, or closely related fields; graduate students may also be considered
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and effective written/verbal communication
  • ​Ability to work independently/effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, learn new skills and proactively solve problems
  • ​Ideally, the intern has taken undergraduate level chemistry classes and has introductory laboratory skills. Previous working experience in the academic lab setting is preferred

Note: This is an onsite, paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. While housing is not provided by Seagen, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.
