Position Summary:

The Translational Sciences department is seeking a highly motivated and creative Sr. Research Associate to be part of a non-regulated ligand/cell-based assay development group. This individual would contribute to a team that develops and implements a variety of assays for advancement of multiple antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) and the immuno-oncology biotherapeutic pipeline from preclinical into clinical development. The successful candidate will help bioanalytical assay development to characterize the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of antibody-based drugs. This candidate will develop process improvement procedures to drive operational efficiency using automation under both dry and wet lab settings. This candidate may also be responsible for the development of select biomarkers or cell-based assays, such as neutralizing antibody assays. The successful candidate must have strong leadership, organizational and communication skills to move projects forward and meet timelines.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of ligand binding assays and other novel bioanalytical methods used to measure and characterize therapeutic drugs or novel drug-linker platforms in various biological matrices
  • Exploration of new technologies
  • Develop process improvement procedures to drive operational efficiency
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new and established methods to characterize therapeutic drugs in in vitro and in vivo studies and models
  • Lead and organize a team of junior scientist in sample management and analysis
  • Troubleshoot analytical issues
  • Training of junior scientists

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline with a minimum 7 years (+BS) or 5 years (+MS) of relevant research/industry experience
  • Experience with standard immunoassays in multiple assay formats
  • Familiar with bioanalytical principles and techniques and experience in assay development
  • Experience with wet lab automation is a plus
  • Experience with cell-based assays, cell culture or tissue culture is a plus
  • Experience in programming skills such as R, Python and/or Java is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment and communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills; computer and analytical programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Prism, Unifi, SoftMax Pro), and familiarity with database management

The hiring pay range for this position is $94,000 - $122,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
